Karen provides psychological assessment and treatment for children, adolescents and young adults up to the age of 25 years, working with individuals and their families.

Psychological Assessment

Assessment can clarify developmental, emotional, social, behavioural and academic concerns, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

Child Psychology

Clinical psychology for children can include working individually with the child, with parents, or with the family.

Adolescents and Young Adults

Support is available for teenagers and young adults up to age 25, with treatment planned around the young person's needs and context.

Anxiety and School Refusal

Treatment may address anxiety disorders such as obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, separation anxiety and school refusal.

Autism and ADHD

Karen works with young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and co-morbid mental health issues.

Mood, Eating and Self-Harm Concerns

Clinical psychology support may include depression and mood disorders, eating disorders, body-image issues and self-harm behaviours.

Parenting and Family Support

Support can include parenting support, sleep difficulties, adjustment and behavioural difficulties, trauma, grief and loss issues.

Karen has been an AHPRA-registered clinical psychology supervisor, and she provides psychology supervision to clinical and general psychologists working in private practice, educational settings or community agencies.

Medicare and Private Health Rebates

A referral is not required to attend appointments. Medicare rebates are available only with an appropriate referral from your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist.

About Karen

Karen Haydon, B.B.Sc (Hons), M. Psych (Clinical)

Karen is a registered clinical psychologist who established her private practice in 2008 and now practises in Malvern. With over 20 years experience, she has always chosen to work with children, adolescents and families.

She is an AHPRA-registered clinical psychologist, a full member of the Australian Psychological Society, a member of the College of Clinical Psychologists, and is eligible to provide clinical psychology services under Medicare.

Referrals & Rebates

A referral is not required to attend appointments. However, Medicare rebates are available with an appropriate referral from your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist. Private health insurance rebates may also be applicable depending on your health fund and level of cover.

Fees can be discussed at the time of referral.
